At the ripe old age of 40, I found myself with 20+ plus years of real estate sales and management experience along with a few real estate investments acquired over time. During my 20 year real estate experience, there were more than a couple of tough real estate markets. Although each rough patch was followed by more positive markets, getting through the tough times taught me the value of private lending and how it could help keep real estate moving and acquisitions continuing regardless of market conditions.
In 1990, with a lending pool of about $250,000., I started finding lending opportunities that typically needed fast or unusual financing. Life was simple and paperwork was minimal. However that was to change very soon.
As word spread, friends and neighbors were interested in safe but greater than CD returns. With lots of due diligence and very conservative lending, our business grew steadily year in and year out. Due to an abundance of opportunities and a huge amount of new legislation, a partner for my business was long overdue.
In 2005, Kerrie Johnson invited me to lunch and mentioned to me that she would love to get involved in Gallic Financial. It was a perfect match and over the next few years Kerrie became a game changer for my business. That is when her name went on the sign and I could easily see my way to stepping back and then out of the day to day operation.
In 2014, I retired and Kerrie took over the business. It was perfect timing for everyone involved and I have not regretted for a minute the transition and direction of Gallic and Johnson Financial.
In 2020 Matt Powell joined Gallic & Johnson, now Blue-inc. Capital, and became a partner helping and assisting Kerrie with the business operations and loan originating.
The name Blue-inc. Capital was inspired by the once required signing of legal real estate documents with blue ink. The reasoning behind the color, is the blue will stand out among the walls of black text on a document. Blue ink also indicates that the document is an original and not a copy. Today, Blue-inc. Capital stands out as an original market leader in private lending.
